Illinois’ next governor and general assembly will shape the state’s transportation future, and we need your help to ensure that future is sustainable, equitable and multimodal.
Active Transportation NOW is a 501(c)(4) not-for-profit organization working in metro Chicago to promote better biking, walking and public transit among candidates for elected office.
By educating candidates and voters on transportation priorities, we wish to win game-changing improvements that make it safer and easier for all residents to get around without a car.
Active Transportation NOW asked more than 90 candidates for state assembly about their views on these issues in a candidate questionnaire sent in September. All responses will be posted in October.
Over the next few weeks we will highlight a group of candidates who are committed to working together to achieve progress on the state’s most pressing biking, walking and public transit needs.
We’ll be asking you to show up on foot, bike, train or bus to volunteer for targeted candidates and ensure they’re in position to champion active transportation issues in the next general assembly.
Please complete this form to let us know we can count on you to advocate for better biking, walking and public transit in the upcoming state elections. Volunteer activities may include contacting candidates in your district, attending local events and volunteering at campaign offices
We will not share your responses or emails directly with campaigns. We will give you the tools to connect with candidates who are committed to being champions for active transportation as legislators.
Stay tuned for more information about featured candidates and issues leading up to election day in November.
