Volunteer to support Alderman Burnett

A biking, walking and transit champion running for re-election to city council on Chicago’s Near West Side needs your help.

Alderman Walter Burnett has a history of supporting biking in the 27th Ward, which includes parts of the following neighborhoods: East Garfield Park, Humboldt Park, the Near West Side, the Illinois Medical District, Greektown, United Center Park and the Near North Side.

See Ald. Burnett’s response to our candidate questionnaire and a full list of responses from aldermanic and mayoral candidates.

Alderman Burnett has been a cyclist since his youth. An early supporter of the Dutch Reach awareness effort and legislation, the alderman has championed bike lanes on Clybourn Ave. and through Garfield Park. The alderman expressed interest in working to enhance CTA bus services, especially on the Chicago #66 route, which traverses the ward.

The Green Line El, which also serves the ward, will soon have a new station at Damen, joining the Morgan station in expanding rail access in the ward. The alderman is intensely aware that transportation is critical for access to jobs, health care, and other social services.

Alderman Burnett needs you to volunteer on his campaign to ensure that he is re-elected and continues as an active transportation champion.
