Volunteer to support Alderman Arena

A biking, walking and transit champion running for re-election to city council on Chicago’s Northwest Side needs your help.

Alderman John Arena is committed to making his community a better place to live for his constituents in the 45th Ward, which includes parts of the following neighborhoods: Portage Park, Gladstone Park, Mayfair, Edgebrook, Forest Glen, Independence Park, and Jefferson Park.

See Ald. Arena’s response to our candidate questionnaire and a full list of responses from aldermanic and mayoral candidates.

He is fighting for a transparent and accountable city government. John believes that all neighborhoods should have equal access to transportation so that they can connect to jobs, education and health care. He believes that promoting walking, bicycling and upgrading transit service will create healthy and sustainable communities.

Alderman Arena has implemented participatory budgeting process; founded Bike 45 to promote biking and bike safety; led the renovation of all CTA stations, including the Jeff Park Transit Center; installed seven DIVVY stations; and built new parks and playgrounds. Being able to bike and walk to these destinations is critical for a healthy community.

Now John needs you to bike, walk or take a bus to his campaign office and volunteer so he continues as an active transportation champion in City Council.
